Marie Francesca Menniti
BSc(Hons) BVM&S, MSc, AFHEA, MRCVS

I have always had a passion for the use of nutrition in preventing and treating disease. My unique academic and clinical experience spans multiple countries and species, giving me a well-rounded approach.
Originally from Canada, I completed my Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences and nutrition at the University of Guelph in Ontario. I went on to pursue a Master’s in Animal Nutrition, focusing my research on canine nutrition.
I completed my veterinary degree at the University of Edinburgh and began my clinical career working in poultry medicine. Looking to have a greater focus on nutrition in my clinical work, I applied and got accepted to the clinical nutrition residency programme at Ghent University in Belgium. During my time in Belgium, I worked exclusively on nutrition-focused cases‒ formulating diets for cats, dogs, and horses. The species I have worked with includes llamas, alpacas, and tapirs.
Now based in Edinburgh, I provide veterinary nutrition services remotely to clients across the United Kingdom through Menniti Veterinary Nutrition. I specialise in developing tailored diets to support pets with a range of health needs.
I am a member of the European Society of Veterinary and Comparative Nutrition and regularly engage with colleagues around the world to stay up to date on the latest nutrition research.
In my spare time, I enjoy playing board games, Scottish hiking, and spending time with my Bengal cat, Meeyu.
